Description Miniatures
Raj Sarma Philadelphia (United States) Raj Sarma Photography @rsarmaphotos

Taken at the Milford Sound in the southern island of New Zealand, otherwise known as, "Heaven on Earth"; this photo was taken to convey how magnificently large this sound is. The small boat you see to you left, is in fact, a 250 passenger ship, completely dwarfed by the enormous cliffs of the Milford Sound. Show more

While on vacation in Seabrook Island, South Carolina, we were able to watch many beautiful sunsets on the beach. I was experimenting with my camera when I captured this photo, and I really enjoyed the orange of the sky reflecting on the waves, as well as the layers of the water lapping up onto the sand. Walking through Manhattan, New York, I was surprised by a major cloudburst. Running for cover and shelter, I suddenly noticed the reflections of the car headlights on the flooded road. A quick shot before I ran into a store and wait for the rain to stop. Show more

When I went to see the Vatican, I didn't bring a tripod because I assumed I would be getting inside before night fall. I did not account for the extremely long lines. When I finally made it to the front of the line and was able to go into St. Peter's Basilica, I deeply regretted not bringing my tripod. When I walked around the corner towards the doors, I was struck by the beautiful blue of the sky and how it looked against the exterior. I had to get creative due to my lack of planning, so I chose to use a rounded baluster, which created some odd angles. I ended up really enjoying how the picture turned out despite the quirky angle. On a balmy evening in Venice, I finished my very late lunch at a restaurant. I was about to call it a day when the colors in the sky started to change. Despite having some red wine earlier, I was able to mount the camera on the tripod. Good thing I did. Otherwise, I would have missed the changing colors of Grand Canal. Show more

sunsets in GILI AIR near LOMBOK are some of the most surreal events to experience. the light is otherworldly. on this day, the sea was a perfect mirror, still and reflective. behind me, ambient EDM played at the beach bars, but out on the water, conditions were optimum and all i needed to do was point-and-shoot. While living in Rome, Italy, I went past and through the Vatican often. This gave me the opportunity to shoot St. Peter's at different times of day, as well as times of the year. This picture was taken shortly after Christmas, so I was able to get the beautiful Christmas tree and nativity scene next to St. Peter's. It had also rained early in the day, so it created great reflection, lighting up this nighttime shot. Show more

This photo was taken at the Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, Japan. It was an early morning shoot. Sun was lurking in and out behind the clouds. I decided to drink my coffee first at the cafe above Tsutaya. An hour later, sun was shining bright on one side of the intersection. The interesting shadow and light caught my attention. Show more
